Bay Controller for Switchgear at Renewable Energy Connection Points – extCZIP-PV PRO

The extCZIP®-PV PRO is a bay protection and control terminal designed for medium- and low-voltage switchgear located at the grid connection points of photovoltaic (PV) power plants, including micro-installations.
It fully complies with the protection and control requirements for distributed energy resources as defined in the Polish Grid Code (IRiESD) and the standards PN-EN 50549-1 and PN-EN 50549-2.

The device supports protection functions powered from both MV and LV voltage sources.
To meet all required functionalities, the new relay is equipped with additional inputs for voltage and current measurement on the low-voltage side.

  • Support for user-defined programmable logic (up to 50 logic blocks),
  • 7” color TFT LCD touchscreen (800x480 resolution),
  • Single-line diagram (mimic display) with real-time switch status visualization,
  • Control of up to 11 switches from the HMI or via SCADA (telecontrol),
  • Event log, measurement data, and I/O status display,
  • 28 or 56 opto-isolated binary inputs,
  • 20 or 40 configurable relay outputs,
  • 14 dual-color programmable LEDs with on-screen labeling,
  • ON/OFF push-buttons for local circuit breaker control from the front panel,
  • 512 MB internal memory for disturbance recordings, event logs, and energy measurement data,
  • Time synchronization over Ethernet using SNTP,
  • Independent communication interfaces: USB, 2× RS-485, Ethernet 10/100 BASE-TX,
  • Supported protocols: DNP3.0, IEC 60870-5-103, IEC 60870-5-104, IEC 61850, and Modbus® ASCII/RTU,
  • 2-bit position monitoring of all controlled switching devices,
  • Optional current inputs compatible with low-power sensors based on Rogowski coils.
  • Optional Measurement Input Modules
    • 7I/7U Module: Enables full voltage and current measurement on both MV and LV sides of the transformer.
    • 4I/10U Module: Supports phase current and voltage measurement including I0 and U0 on the MV side and phase voltages on the LV side of a triple-winding MV/2×LV transformer.
    • 7U/6IR + I0 Module: Allows phase current measurement on both MV and LV sides using CR/CRR current sensors.
